Strengths And weaknesses
Strengths and weaknesses - we all have them whether we know it or not. We all have them whether we admit it or not. Building on your strengths is admirable, but if you don’t improve your weaknesses, they will always be what limits your progress in any area of your life. Sometimes it’s good to look under the hood and do an overhaul on yourself.
A little self-maintenance can go a long way in building a better monster, but it helps to know exactly what you’re working on to really improve it. Knowing what our physical strengths and weaknesses are is usually pretty straightforward. Knowing the limitations and long shots of our personalities may not be as obvious. That’s where this episode of the Monster in the Making® podcast comes in. Episode 28 reminds us to evaluate what we can recreate on a personal level.
Sometimes we are blind to our own faults. We are too close to the problem to even see the problem (kind of like that “can’t see the forest for the trees” saying.) That’s where true friends come in. An objective friend can be a treasure in offering constructive feedback on identifying our strengths and weaknesses – especially if one of our weaknesses is getting defensive about what we are not so good at. And to our benefit, they’ll often point out things that we may be so good at that we don’t even realize it because it’s second nature to us.
When you know better, you’ll grow better. If you want to get better, improve your personal weak spots. If you’re not sure what they are, ask a few friends to help you figure it out. Then build a better monster. You can.
Be you. Be real. Be better. Be a Monster in the Making®. Be a really good one.
